The ICAC Task Force had received numerous complaints of individuals posting child pornography in a section of Microsoft Network’s website. After months of investigating it was determined that many of the complaints were tied to the same individual. The suspect had multiple online identities, some of which had been created using the local library system’s computers.
On April 15th Nassau County Police Department and the New York State Police executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence where six computers, four cell phones and numerous CDs and DVDs were seized.
The 40-year old Westbury, New York man was arrested and arraigned in Nassau County District Court and charged with nine counts each of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, class D and E felonies. He was held on $400,000 bond or $200,000 cash bail.
Additional charges may be forthcoming pending forensic examination of the digital evidence that was seized. The suspect was employed as a truck-washer for a Westbury company. As a side job he worked as a clown entertaining at children’s parties.
